The Talented Tindal {#WCW}
Hello all my Hippies!
We are going to start posting every Wednesday calling out C O O L chicks who have a rockin' style! This Wednesday our super stylish babe is Tindal Anderson who is a Fashion Marketing & Management major and soon to be graduate at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia!
Check out the interview below & follow her on Instagram @nintindal64
"I love getting to mix & match prints, and I think that is something Mamie Ruth clothing absolutely allows you to do. It’s funky and it’s fun, and it makes a statement."
Question: Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Tindal: Well… I grew up in Macon, GA, the oldest of three sisters; I went to a small private school there, and then after graduation, I started my undergrad at Mercer University studying Business/Marketing. Deep down, I always knew I wanted to pursue fashion; my grandmother had sparked my interest in fashion from a very young age. Eventually, I transferred to UGA for a year to begin my Fashion Merchandising degree, and then I finally decided I wanted my degree to come from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), so I transferred once more, and I am now graduating this June with my B.F.A in Fashion Marketing & Management! I am hoping to move to New York after graduation, and we will see where my feet take me from there.
My guilty pleasure is...
Watching Sex & the City with a tub of Talenti frozen gelato, while snuggling with my Shih Tzu, Lucy.
How would you describe your personal style?
Ever-changing. But this question always gets me because there really isn’t one word or phrase for my personal style. It truly is always changing, and I don’t like to be confined to any box, so I enjoy the feeling of being able to dress however I want and be whomever I want each and every day. I think that is what fashion is all about … never having to be just one thing. It’s fun!

Weird semi secret talent you have?
I’m really good at games like Cards Against Humanity & Balderdash. I have a weird mind like that.
Do you have any fashion rules when putting an outfit together?
No rules – just has to be comfortable — like I can conquer whatever comes my way that day, while also looking cute enough to hear, “I love your outfit!” at least a couple times J
Who are your biggest fashion icons?
The list goes on and on. Jane Birkin is amazing; she inspires my love of 70’s style, along with that effortless Parisian girl look. I also love Alexa Chung & the Olsen twins. Last but not least would be Leandra Medine of the Man Repeller blog. Her style is so funky, so daring, and always exciting – I strive to incorporate that unexpected, quirky style that just works.
Who was your favorite Celebrity crush?
I am literally obsessed with Chris Hemsworth…. What a hunk.
Favorite 90’s tv show?
Oh gosh … my childhood!! Where do I even start? ‘The Amanda Show’, ‘Are You Afraid of the Dark?’ and ‘All That’ would be some of the favorites.
What’s the last song you listened to?
‘Formation’ by Beyoncé. Had to start the day off right.
What’s your next fashion MUST have?
A trench vest from Club Monaco; I also want a Spell Designs Kimono. It’s gorgeous!
Top 3 favorite bands?
Off the top of my head, The Strokes, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Tedeschi Trucks Band are some favorites, but that’s really hard because I love SO much music; I probably have some type of music I like in common with just about everyone.
If you were a pizza, what kind would represent you the best?
Hmm… There is a pizza place Paolo and I go to in Venice, Florida every time we’re at the beach; owned by an Italian family & grilled in a wood-brick oven, the one that fits me best is topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella, roasted peppers, eggplant, ricotta salata and pesto. YUM!!! All my favorites.
What is your favorite Mamie Ruth clothing article right now?
My fringe vest. It will always be a favorite.
One person you would love to meet and why?
I would love to meet my granddad on my mom’s side. I never got to meet him, and from what I hear, he was an incredible person with so many amazing stories.
The next place I want to travel is…
That would have to be California (San Francisco & Napa Valley in particular) because I am going there in June with my family. Also, Italy!!
Why?
Cali because I’m already going. Italy because I have always wanted to go (who doesn’t?); when I was little, my dad always said he would take me one day, and since that never got to happen, and now that I have been dating an Italian boy for almost 7 years, I expect to travel there with him soon!!
What’s your favorite quote?
“Fearlessness is not the absence of fear. It’s the mastery of fear. It’s about getting up one more time than we fall down.” –Arianna Huffington
Describe your perfect day?
My perfect day would either involve the beach or waking up and going to the farmer’s market with Paolo to get things for our dinner and spending the day doing whatever we wanted, no plans … being outside, drinking beer, exploring, soaking up the sunshine, etc.
What’s something people would be surprised to learn about you?
I start doing the dishes when I get nervous or upset.
Who inspires you and why?
That’s a tough one because I am so inspired by so many people around me. Emily Bargeron has inspired me since the first day I met her years ago – she is a power- house, such an inspiration to women around her and I look up to her as an example in everything that she does. My mom also inspires me more than anyone – she is the strongest woman I have ever known, and she pushes me to be ME and no one else. I respect her, I admire her and some day hope to be just like her.
I had to include my inner festival chick. This photo is from when I worked the Mamie Ruth booth at Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. I thought these overalls were made for me… I love festival fashion because there are NO rules and no limits. It’s all about having fun and expressing yourself through funky styled outfits.
